C-ITS deployment and evaluation workshop

C-ITS deployment is under way in Europe. The aim of the workshop is to gather experts to share knowledge, issues and solutions, on key topics today for the C-ITS deployment and evaluation. While C-ITS technical specifications are currently been prepared, the workshop will concentrate in organizational and governance issues, as well as evaluation approaches and results, and any other open issues requested by the C-ITS pilots. This will valuably contribute to recommendations for the continuation of the C-ITS roll-out.

Day 1 – 5 November 2019, 10.00-17.00 – C-ITS Deployment organisational aspects

Objective to consolidate the perspective of stakeholders that has been involved in real-life C-ITS deployment. “Learning by doing” process focus in C-ITS is to investigate good/bad practices for effective experience sharing and carry out an survey to introduce measures to further rolling-out CITS systems. The workshop’s main areas of interests are mainly organisational and governance issues, for example economic, personnel as well as political challenges, including the ownership and quality of data as well as privacy issues. This approach can provide input for business models from the Road Authorities and Operator's perspective, which will be based on reallife pilot experience.

Day 2 – 6 November 2019, 9.00-16.00 – Evaluation and assessment
1. Introduction to the C-Roads Evaluation approach
2. Experiences and preliminary results from C-Roads pilots
3. Presentation of invited Speakers and C-ITS projects to discuss about evaluation approaches and implementations results

The C-Roads Working Group 3 "Evaluation and Assessment" Workshop, has the objective of sharing and comparing evaluation approaches, best practices and evaluation results among Partners and with external Stakeholders. The aim is to gather experts, researchers and stakeholders dealing with the issue of C-ITS impact assessment, to increase the awareness and the effectiveness of the activities of evaluation and assessment. During the workshop the approaches defined in WG3’s Report “Evaluation and Assessment Plan” will be presented and shared.
