Urban C-ITS workshops in Bordeaux

The European Project C-the Difference will be holding its final City Twinning workshop that will gather representatives from European cities and road authorities/operators. The aim is to foster knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices in the field of urban C-ITS pilots.

Lessons learnt, testimonies from cities and user experiences (both from Helmond and Bordeaux pilot sites) will be presented, as well as first results on urban C-ITS benefits, to accelerate full scale deployment in cities. Local authorities need robust and neutral information they can trust on the actual impact of C-ITS services, therefore first evaluation results will be explained. On this basis, panel discussion and interactive session will address the issue on how large scale deployment of these services could deliver expected benefits according to local mobility policy needs such as traffic efficiency, safety and impact on the environment. These sessions will also nurture and improve recommendations. Live demonstrations will be organized on public roads at Bordeaux pilot site.

The second day workshop will build on the collaboration opportunities with other relevant C-ITS initiatives to pave the way towards large scale deployment of C-ITS services in urban environments. The audience will be enlarged to all C-ITS stakeholders (public, private, research) to develop common understanding and to organize effective cross-sectorial cooperation framework. Several sessions will address C-ITS as a game changer for the future of traffic management and for helping cities to sustain mobility for all.

Registration will be launched by the end of April at c-thedifference.eu.
